Discover your influence

Fast Company magazine are on the hunt to find out who the most influential people on the internet are. In a week where Old Spice have received much praise for their campaign this grass roots approach also has a strong incentive for users to be sharing branded content. With an interesting interface to check out and the chance to be featured in the magazine maybe its time you found out how influential you really are…
David Fincher, the director behind Fight Club and Zodiac (I’m trying to forget about Benjamin Button) has made a new film about the founders of Facebook. Doesn’t sound all that exciting but with Fincher involved it’s bound to be at least visually interesting. Great, unconventional poster as well.
Some of you probably remember the video of Snoop, Stars, and Adidas taking over the streets of New York. Here a new related viral video, featuring a few more big names, such as Daft Punk and David Beckham. It’s certainly got our studio talking and with over 2 million hits to date it seems to be doing something right. Does it do it for you?

Spike Jonze has an amazing new short film available to watch online called ‘I’m Here’. It is set in a world where robots and humans co-exist, though the former is only used for menial jobs and nothing much else. However, this is slowly changing and Jonze has set his film at a time where some robots are beginning to find a purpose; a reason for existence. They’re also beginning to fall in love with each other. The official site has a really nice interface that represents the experience of going to a movie theatre – check it out here.

Innovative display of work from Jean Malek

Jean Malek’s website shows that great visual impact doesn’t have to be at the expense of simple usability. In fact I think the useability vs design debate is really a bit old hat now, they should just go hand in hand. (Designers and developers unite, it’s a love in!) Anyway, we really like the way they collide on this site. It’s a striking way for him to display his work and the way the menu icon follows your cursor round the screen means you never get lost.
There is also the thoughtful inclusion of quick links to get directly to the previous/next piece of work. Very nice…
Last month’s Pecha Kucha presentations are now online to view at your pleasure. To view them all click here.

This looks like it may have cost a fair bit and according to the odd blog (thanks for the info, Si) this was an 8 month project but who cares, it rocks. Lynx online offering has all the cheeky content we would expect from the brand and it’s unswerving devotion to helping young lads pull, but we’re more intersted in how it is all packaged up in a smart bit of interface design. (More interesting than Keeley? Discuss…) Anyway, it’s a great way to use Papervision to display content particularly where there is a lot of it to display like the video page.

Wrangler go interactive

Take control with Wrangler’s new interactive website showcasing the spring / summer collection. Ever wanted to get hold of a smug looking model and throw him around a bit? Well, whatever your motivation with Wrangler’s new site you can. Innovative web interface or just a bit of fun? The speed to which you can slow down the action is impressive though. Crap clothes, nice site? you decide…
