Here’s a little sting I’ve made, experimenting with new plug-ins we’ve got here in Multimedia. It was done with 3DS max and the plug-in Particle flow box 2 and put together in After Effects.

3 Dreams of Black

“3 Dreams of Black” is an interactive music video developed in WebGL. Visit the site: www.ro.me. Most of what you see during the experience is not video, but is real-time rendering of visual models through WebGL, a technology that brings hardware-accelerated 3D graphics to the browser. Combined with different live action and 2D-cell render animation assets it gives users a vivid visual and compelling musical experience where a story is told with new and ground breaking technology.

Murmuration from Sophie Windsor Clive on Vimeo.
Nature never fails to amaze me – this footage was caught by a couple of friends during a chance encounter with a ‘murmuration’ of starlings. Breathtaking on so many levels. The sheer number of birds, the fact that they can fly so close, so fast, and never collide, and the mesmerising visual spectacle they produce as a result. I’m so jealous of these two girls you wouldn’t believe.

A couple of intriguing other-worldly films created by Kim Pimmel using ferrous printer toner and water. The magnetic properties allow the ink to be manipulated using magnets. Beautifully shot, the ink weaves its way through the complex structure of soap bubbles and creates strangely ordered and uniform patterns as it moves to the magnetic force.
