Peter Saville England Shirt

New England home shirt designed by Peter Saville. It’s certainly minimal, the multicoloured crosses being “evocative of the basting stitches synonymous with bespoke tailoring” according to Saville. Either that or it makes you look like you have interesting dandruff… Thoughts anyone?

I like it. Very restrained and yet interesting enough to make me want one…

I watched the video earlier on the Umbro site and almost sent it round regarding the photo-montage of all the players – and must admit the stitching was so subtle I missed it. Interesting to see Peter S being involved in more fashion.

Is this a step towards changing the image of England fans? It might work, or at least appeal to a wider audience who might not ordinarily buy football shirts.
There’s something slightly ‘pub singer’ about the shoulder panel from the back though.
