“To most people, typefaces are pretty insignificant. Yet to their devotees, they are the most important feature of text, giving subliminal messages that can either entice or revolt readers, says Tom de Castella.”
Monday lunchtime will see the Final of our Foosball World Cup tournament that has been raging for weeks. Many hours have been spent and palms made sweaty over the foosball and what a world cup its been. We have to give a massive shout out to Richard Chester who has run the whole thing pretty much single handedly, sending out inspired match reports and refereeing with impartiality throughout.
Monday at 1pm see’s my team USA take on our other heavyweight blogger Phil’s ICELAND. Game on!

Fast Company magazine are on the hunt to find out who the most influential people on the internet are. In a week where Old Spice have received much praise for their campaign this grass roots approach also has a strong incentive for users to be sharing branded content. With an interesting interface to check out and the chance to be featured in the magazine maybe its time you found out how influential you really are…
Thanks to everyone that was involved and attended the last Creative Forum – the next one will be announced very soon, in the meantime here are some images from the event.
David Fincher, the director behind Fight Club and Zodiac (I’m trying to forget about Benjamin Button) has made a new film about the founders of Facebook. Doesn’t sound all that exciting but with Fincher involved it’s bound to be at least visually interesting. Great, unconventional poster as well.
Breakbot – Baby I’m Yours (feat. Irfane) – HD made with 2000 watercolour images!
Some of you probably remember the video of Snoop, Stars, and Adidas taking over the streets of New York. Here a new related viral video, featuring a few more big names, such as Daft Punk and David Beckham. It’s certainly got our studio talking and with over 2 million hits to date it seems to be doing something right. Does it do it for you?
Whether you are a fan of the TV show Lost or not, it was quite an experience to be watching the finale at the same time as everyone else around the world (well, in eight countries anyway). In this day of Sky+, iPlayer, Tivo etc, the shared experience of event television is a thing of the past (to the benefit of being able to watch what you want, whenever you want to).
Certainly, the main reason I got up at 5am this morning was to be a part of that shared experience that I grew up with (as well as not wanting some idiot online to spoil it for me). As for the show itself, I thought it was a very fitting emotional end with a surprise reveal that nicely harked back to fan theories from the first season. Very clever also how they weaved in key moments from other seasons into the narrative. Not every question was answered but some things are best left to the imagination…
We were very grateful for the artist, Rob Hart to come and talk about his work in the last Creative Forum. See below to watch an excerpt.
